Episode 13: Can all war-crimes trials be completed in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 13 years?

In the first episode of TV Justice in this year we bring an overview of the most important trials held before the War Crimes Chamber of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in December. In the second part of the show you can watch reportage about the implementation of the State War Crimes Processing Strategy up to the present date.

Although the Strategy was adopted more than two years ago, its implementation is not going at the planned pace. Local courts and prosecutions lack judges and prosecutors to deal with those cases, while also lacking capacities for ensuring protection measures for witnesses. It is estimated that, at the current pace it will not be possible to complete the thousands of pending war-crimes cases in the next 13 years.

We spoke to Zdravko Knezevic, Chief Prosecutor with the Prosecution of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, about the problems related to implementation of the State Strategy.

At the end of our magazine you can hear what Travnik citizens think about the work of the War Crimes Chamber with the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Talk about it!
