Kosovo’s Parliament is discussing for the third time in a row today a law on official holidays. It became a hot topic these days, since the list of holidays in a law sponsored by the government doesn’t include some traditional Albanian holidays. And as simple as that, the MPs don’t want to vote it.
This new struggle seems quite futuristic -for two nations that have been translated into headlines, for the major part of the twentieth century, as marred by ancient tribal hate and confused by such out-of-style European ideas as ethnic supremacy.
However he should be careful not to get sick while staying here although there is a good reason for it.
Four months ago, this teenager in Sarajevo and two others poured gasoline on a 72-year-old pensioner, Ljubica Spasojevic-Djokic and set her ablaze, for no apparent reason. She died from her injuries a week later.
One would have thought that as Macedonia got a candidate status for the EU and moved further with various reforms some progress would have been seen with behavior in election. Unfortunately that is not the case. Not only there is no progress, things in fact seem much worse.
I do not like the smell of the smoke and am always depressed when I realize how terribly my clothes stink after a night spent in a nightclub or bar. But that reality isn’t enough for me to say: stop doing that - and I’m not sure I’m really going to be able to get rid of the habit.
No one bothered to ask, or indeed noticed, that the few non-smokers present at the meeting almost choked after two hours spent in a smoke-filled office.
A man walks into a bar, and asks for a pack of cigarettes. The waiter duly returns with a Marlboro Lights, with the insignia: “Smoking Causes Cancer.” The customer suitably unsatisfied asks to change the pack of Marlboro’s with another one.
And then, most exciting of all: The Great Wait. Weeks and months of waiting to see how the government will be formed, who gets which ministry in exchange for that one. And, to top off the excitement, this will be in full swing when Macedonians vote then we can enjoy the Great Wait of Macedonia too. In the meantime….and to fill the time…
Seriously. This way we could target smokers from all over the planet who chafe under the tight anti-smoking regulations of their home countries.

Few weeks ago, together with many friends of mine, we gathered in the centre of Pristina to sign a petition in support to what today is known the “Union” building”.
