Bosnia Police In Karadzic Raid
| 12 March 2008 |
The raid in search of Karadzic, was conducted by police in the Bosnian Serb entity, Republika Srpska, some time on Tuesday.
Karadzic is wanted by the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, ICTY, at The Hague, and has twice been indicted for war crimes and genocide during the 1992-1995 Bosnian War.
The Republika Srpska Interior Ministry confirmed their men did search the houses of Nebojsa Cavkic and Vlatko Lopatic, adding there was no violence during the raid.
The two are suspected to be part of a network that is hiding Karadzic.
During the search, police confiscated several items, including computers, mobile phones and SIM cards, which will be handed over as evidence to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina Court. The court had ordered the raid.
Karadzic remains at large despite many raids on the homes of people suspected to be in his support network. He is believed to be hiding somewhere between Bosnia, Serbia and Montenegro.
