Radovan Karadzic Radovan Karadzic, Sarajevo is not your city, and you have no right to say that it is, just as you do not have the right to say in public, even if it’s in court, that someone has dug up bones around Bosnia and brought them to Srebrenica to make a fake graveyard. This is insulting.

Kosovo’s Supreme Court annulled the decision of the Election Commission on Appeals and Complaints, which called for a rerun of the mayoral elections in Gjilan.

The move came after the ECAC recommended that the election be rerun because it found that widespread irregularities had taken place in Gjilan during the second round of elections for mayor held on December 13.
The candidate from the Democratic League of Kosovo, LDK, had requested the rerun. After the ECAC issued its recommendation that a rerun be held, the candidate from the Democratic Party of Kosovo, PDK, filed charges against the ECAC decision.
In its decision, the Supreme Court claimed that the ECAC did not provide evidence for the investigations it carried out and failed to prove that irregularities took place during the mayoral election.
The court asked the ECAC for more clarifications of the facts, requesting that it describe the reasoning behind its decision, and specify the provisions for the decision.
“We will review the recommendations of the Supreme Court. We are working on this matter now,” Mule Desku, an official from the ECAC, told Balkan Insight.
The case for the town of Gjilan also involves the Central Election Commission. “We will have a meeting soon and see what the next steps in this process are,” Fehmi Ajvazi, CEC spokesperson told Balkan Insight.
The race in Gjilan is between candidates from the Democratic Party of Kosovo and Democratic League of Kosovo, the two parties which form the ruling coalition.
