47 Paintings Missing from Croatian Embassies
| 03 February 2010 |Several valuable items have gone missing from Croatian embassies, including 47 paintings.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration recently made public information about the lost items, following an inspection by the state audit office.
The paintings are said to have disappeared between 2000 and 2003. Office furniture and other items have also been reported missing. The total value of everything that has disappeared is estimated to be around €59,000, according to the Croatian Times.
Eight of the paintings have since been found in Zagreb, Sarajevo and Warsaw.




The issue of national identity is taken seriously by Balkan people – including the least serious among them.
