As a member of a Serbian criminal group, Guduric was accused of serious criminal robberies in Novi Sad, Sombor, and Sremska Mitrovica in 2004 and 2005. He was reportedly a specialist in robbing jewelry and betting shops.
Pukanic, 47, was known for promoting investigations into corruption and organised crime. He was killed in October 2008 when an explosive device detonated underneath his car outside his newspaper’s offices in Zagreb. His marketing manager, Niko Franic, was also killed in the blast.
Indictments have been issued against eight persons from Croatia and Serbia and prosecutors from the two countries have been coordinating on the case. According to the charges, the indictees killed Pukanic in return for a payment of "at least €1.5 million".
One of the other men indicted in the case, Zeljko Milovanovic, was arrested in June in Belgrade.
