Albanian Police Bust Criminal Gang
Tirana | 14 December 2009 |
The group, which operated in the Tirana area, is accused stealing more than 500,000 euro in a string of break-ins since 2000, from local businesses.
“This was a structured criminal gang and their arrest was made possible only after several months of investigation,” said Tirana police chief Tonin Vocaj in a press conference.
The investigation was led by the Serious Crimes Prosecutor’s office in Tirana. The gang is also suspected of a break-in in the Danish embassy in Tirana on 23 October.

The issue of national identity is taken seriously by Balkan people – including the least serious among them.
