The issue of national identity is taken seriously by Balkan people – including the least serious among them.
Kosovo Electoral Commission Issues Preliminary Results

Preliminary results of Central Election Commission, CEC, for the second round of elections declared the winners in different 20 municipalities of Kosovo, living equal results in Prizren.
Kosovo went to the polls on Sunday to decide the mayor of 21 municipalities after no outright winner emerged in these areas in the first round of the elections on November 15.
Out of the 21 municipalities, 10 municipalities will be ran by the Democratic Party of Kosovo, PDK, five by the Democratic League of Kosovo, LDK, and three by the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, AAK. One municipality went to the Serbian Liberal Party and one to an independent candidate Hani Elzit.
According to CEC, the preliminary results are as follows:
Mitrovica: PDK- 53.0 %, AKR- 47.0 %,
Vushtrri: AAK – 36.5 %, PDK- 63. 5 %,
Obiliq: PDK- 48.1 %, LDK- 51.9 %,
Peja: AAK- 76.7 %, LDD- 23.3 %,
Suhareka: AAK- 52.4 %, PDK- 47.6 %,
Hani i Elezit: Rufki Suma, independent candidate -53.3 %, PDK-46.7 %,
Gjilan: PDK – 51.4 %, LDK- 48.6 %,
Kamenicë: PDK- 45.9 %, LDK – 59.1 %,
Dragash: PDK- 53.3 %, LDK- 46.7 %,
Istog: LDK- 70.8 %, AAK- 29.2 %,
Kacanik: PDK – 57.9 %, AAK- 42.1 %,
Klina: PDK- 56.3 %, AAK – 43. 7 %,
Lipjan: PDK -50.5 %, LDK- 49. 5 %,
Novobrdo: LDK- 80.9 %, SNSD – 19.1 %,
Rahovec: PDK- 50.8 %, LDK- 49.2 %,
Podujevo: PDK- 33.5 %, LDK- 66.5 %,
Prizren: PDK- 50.0%, LDK-50.0 %,
Strpce: PDK-35.0 %, SLS – 65.0 %,
Viti: PDK- 55.2 %, LDD- 44.8 %,
Malisheva: PDK-61.8 %, LDK 38.2 %,
Junik: AAK – 56.7 %, LDK- 43.3 %.
According to CEC, the results did not include the so-called conditional votes, including votes cast by disabled, postal votes, and those votes cast by people who could not find their names on the voter lists. Preliminary results in Prizren show PDK and LDK neck and neck. The winner in the second largest town in Kosovo will be known after the counting of conditional 1,612 votes.
According to CEC president, Nesrin Lushta, the final results would be known in two to three days time. She said that 376,337 persons or 37.88 per cent of the people voted in the second round.
