Three new swine flu patients died in the past 24 hours in Macedonia, raising the number of casualties to 12.
A 57 years-old man from the town of Bitola and two women from Skopje, aged 71 and 75 are the latest victims.
Fourteen new patients with A/H1N1 flu symptoms have been hospitalized in the past 24 hours, the Ministry said adding that the number of patients who are currently on hospital receiving treatment is over 160.
As the dedicated clinics become full, the Ministry is making efforts to create additional space in other clinics for the large number of patients with swine flu symptoms.
According to the data from the Institute for Public Health, only in the last week the number of registered flu patients has reached almost 2,800, although it is not confirmed how many of them have the swine flu virus.
This brings the total number of suspected flu infections to over 10,000. But doctors warn that the real number might be significantly higher than this.
