The Serbian embassy in Prague said on Tuesday that its building had been vandalized by graffiti of a nationalist and fascist nature.

Fonet news agency reports that graffiti, which was aimed against Serbs, included a symbol 'U' of the Croatian Nazi-affiliated Ustacha organisation of World War II.

The messages reportedly appeared Monday night on the embassy's building, which is located in downtown Prague. Immediately after, the Czech authorities came to the spot and launched an investigation on the case.

According to an official announcement, the Czech authorities condemned the act of vandalism and announced increased measures of security around the embassy.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Serbian ambassador visited the Czech Foreign Ministry requesting protection for the embassy, the agency reports.
