The Democratic Party of Kosovo, PDK, has retracted its position on Thursday, and says its governing coalition remains intact.

Late Thursday, it emerged that tensions between the PDK and its governing partner Democratic League of Kosovo, LDK, had become so strained that the PDK had decided to review its partnership with the LDK and was considering asking another party to enter its coalition.

In the press statement released on Friday, the PDK claimed that 'party remains strongly dedicated for the functional stability of the central institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and the process of the country's development.'

"The free, fair and democratic local election of November 15, cannot influence the good functioning of the central institutions: the Parliament, President and Kosovo Republic Prime Minister," the statement added. The party said the coalition will remain intact until parliamentary elections scheduled for 2011.

The news for the coalition break up came when the deputy Prime Minister held a press conference last night in which he announced that the PDK would reformat its coalition.

...many people in politics still seem to learn what the term "public interest" means... Permit me however: How ironic to see this comment from someone with the nick 'KLA'. Isn't it above all the two "UCK parties" PDK and AAK who lead the score on corruption and misuse of powers (just to not say organised crime) ?
