Serbia's new biometric passports

The spokesperson of Kosovo Police Service for the region of Gnjilane, Ismet Hasani, confirmed that Serbia and Montenegro nationals need a passport to enter Kosovo as of 12 November.

In an interview with local TV station in the town of Presevo, Hasani said that his police force will permit people to enter the country without the relevant travel documents if they do not possess them. But he said that a valid passport will be obligatory for subsequent journeys to Kosovo.

Fonet news agency reports that the new administrative procedures have resulted in columns of cars, mostly belonging to Presevo residents, who have been waiting for hours on the border at Mucibabe to enter Kosovo.

Considering that Kosovo receives most of its goods from Serbia, this bureaucracy will only damage the already weak economy of Kosovo. Unfortunately for K-albanians, it is virtually impossible for them to enter Serbia. Even with their so called passports.

This will let tension increase for sure. Hopefully one day when the US economy is too weak to interfere, Serbia can take back her lands . By unifying many of the FYR states they can solve many other issues as well. Good Luck Serbia, the anti-Serbian propaghanda can only last so long.

both of you dont have a clue about Kosovo or Kosovo's economy, so that means goods that England import from Germany, those people dont need to show any identification when entering Britain is that what you saying?

look dear freind from turkey.firts of all u must make any research and read history than manking any comment about kosovo.KOSOVO is Albanian land nor serbias.second it right to have a pasaport in order to pass to another country.i dont see anything strange on that.

@Mark: - you are probably one of the smugglers and you wish you showed no passport even when you go to Netherlands or Greece. Well, whether you like it or not, Kosovo is a state being recognised slowly but surely by other states. And this means - you have to show the passport to enter a foreign country. Am I right? If not, tell me where else can you move freely without passports (except in Schengen particularity)?

well as far i think wher ever you go in this world you need to show who you are...and when you do that the athority to any country they will as you to show your PASSAPORT...so am from ALBANIA when i cross the border with KOSOVO i have to show my PASSAPORT,,,if i dont have with me ALBANIAN POLICE the will tourn me buck nad they never will let me go to KOSOVO..so is a same thing in KOSOVO border my dear...is no thing wrong to show who you are...by showing your PASSAPORT..well mybe it work in EU zone,, like how is my dear reader saying in Schengen country...so and KOSOVO is independent COUNTRY....

thats crazy, who would have ever dreamed that serbs would need passports to enter Kosovo!!!! but i guess time is everything... and everything is possible...
