The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina calls for an increase in the sentences handed down to the three indictees convicted of crimes committed in Vojno, near Mostar, while the Defence calls for the first instance verdict to be overturned and a retrial to be conducted.

NEZAVISNE NOVINE
Bosnian Serb government has adopted a special report on Monday in which it accuses the Office of the High Representative of provoking and maintaining instability in Bosnia. Deputy High Representative to Bosnia, US diplomat Raffi Gregorian and a number of other people -- including state prosecutors, judges and journalists – were accused in the report of conspiring against Bosnia’s Serb-dominated part with the aim to portray it as a safe heaven for criminals and to scare away foreign investors. Anti-corruption watchdog Transparancy International had also been accused of participation in the conspiracy. Bosnian Serb government had pressed charges in November last year against the persons and organisations mentioned in the report, but the Bosnia’s State Prosecutors have failed to investigate the case.

Bosnian citizens have started to panic over the possible spread of the H1N1 virus. An increasing number of Bosnians around the country are calling doctors to inquire about the symptoms of H1N1 flu virus and to require testing for its presence.  

OSLOBODJENJE
Leaders of the two strongest Bosnian Croat political parties are yet to decide whether to particpate in a meeting called by Sulejman Tihic, the president of the leading Bosniak (Bosnian Muslim) Party of Democratic Action (SDA)  Tihic invited the leaders of the country's Bosniak, Croat and Serb communities for a meeting to discuss ways to break the long standing political deadlock. The talks are scheduled for 12 November and the EU and US representatives have also been invited. The leader of Bosnian Croat Democratic Union, Dragan Covic, said that his party will continue to advocate for division of Bosnia into four instead of the current two federal units.

The Bosnian football team has gathered on Monday, five days ahead of their first match with Portugal in the battle for a place in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. The team gathered in Zagreb from where they are to travel to  the Croatian coastal town of Novi Vinodolski. Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko said that the team will give everything for victory on 14 November in Lisbon, and Zenica four days later. Dzeko said that Portuguese were starting as favorites because they have a great team and a huge amount of experience, but that it does not mean that Bosnia’ does not stand a chance.
