Kosovo Foreign Minister Visits Macedonia
Skopje | 06 November 2009 | Sinisa-Jakov Marusic
“The meetings will focus on the necessity of regulating and intensifying bilateral relations, which are characterized by friendship and mutual understanding,” the Macedonian Foreign Affairs Ministry said in a statement.
Hyseni will also meet with President Gjorgi Ivanov and Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski.
Milososki and Hyseni will discuss furthering political and economic cooperation, as well as exchange opinions on regional developments.
Kosovo's Foreign Minister Hyseni is to meet with Parliament Vice Speaker Rafiz Aliti and representatives of parliamentary political parties , the ruling ethnic Albanian, Democratic Union for Integration and the opposition, New Democracy.
Macedonia recognised Kosovo’s newly declared independence last year but conditioned the establishment of diplomatic relations with the marking of the border line.
Skopje’s move caused bitterness in Serbia that sees Kosovo as its own province.
Macedonia had to balance good relations with both neighbors as it has significant economic and political ties with both of them.

“No violence! No violence! Shoot, you thief, with your machine gun!” A few shots. People crying, shouting: “Don’t shoot, you thieves! Aren’t you ashamed? Stop shooting!”… A barrage of shooting, hell breaking loose… Replay. Again and again and again.
