Serbia has registered the second fatality from the swine flu influenza in a 32-year-old woman from the town of Krusevac. The woman, who was taken ill on 28 October, died while being transported to a Belgrade hospital..

Education Minister Zarko Obradovic has announced that the autumn break for elementary and high school students will be extended until November 10, in order to prevent the spread of the A/H1N1 swine flu virus. He didn't exclude the possibility for schools to be closed for a longer period in the case of larger epidemic.

President Boris Tadic is expected to visit the Vatican during his official visit to Italy on 13 November. The daily's source says that Pope Benedict XVI will tell Tadic that the Vatican has not hanged its stance of not recognising the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo. It is believed that the two parties might sign an interstate agreement which would regulate the position of the Catholic Church in Serbia.




The issue of national identity is taken seriously by Balkan people – including the least serious among them.
