Feith: 'New Beginning' for Mitrovica

The International Civilian Representative in Kosovo, Pieter Feith, has said the appointment of a team to create a new Serb-majority municipality in the divided city of Mitrovica could herald a 'new beginning'.

In a meeting with Kosovo parliament speaker Jakup Krasniqi, the new EU Parliament rapporteur for Kosovo Ulrike Lunacek said the parliament will put pressure on five EU countries to recognise Kosovo

In a meeting with US ambassador to Kosovo Christopher Dell, the Minister of Local Governance Sadri Ferati said that there has been significant progress in decentralisation, but said Belgrade continues to challenge this process. Dell gave his support to the process.
