Feith: 'New Beginning' for Mitrovica

The International Civilian Representative in Kosovo, Pieter Feith, has said the appointment of a team to create a new Serb-majority municipality in the divided city of Mitrovica could herald a 'new beginning'.

KOHA DITORE
The Vetevendosje self-determination movement and some 20 civil society organisations protested yesterday against the Serbia-EU rule of law mission, EULEX, policing protocol.

The November local elections campaign will last 30 days, and political parties should pay their outstanding debts from previous polls to the Central Election Commission.

President Fatmir Sejdiu, Premier Hashim Thaci and US Ambassador Christopher Dell have signed their countries' first bilateral aid agreement. The US ambassador also signed a second $13 million (8.9 million euros) agreement with Foreign Affairs Minister Skender Hyseni, intended to facilitate rule of law improvements in Kosovo.
