Feith: 'New Beginning' for Mitrovica

The International Civilian Representative in Kosovo, Pieter Feith, has said the appointment of a team to create a new Serb-majority municipality in the divided city of Mitrovica could herald a 'new beginning'.

Georgieva, Ciolos Approved with New Commission

KOHA DITORE
The US ambassador to Kosovo, Christopher Dell, says that there is no reason to reject the Serbia-EU rule of law mission, EULEX, policing protocol. He added that the protocol is necessary for Kosovo.

EXPRESS
Kosovo Serbs are expected to boycott the November 15 municipal elections. While envisaged in Martti Ahtisaari’s Kosovo status plan, the formation of five new municipalities will not occur this year. The Local Government Ministry is reviewing the possibility of organising special elections for the putative future municipalities.

ZERI
The Vetevendosje self-determination movement will hold protests today against the EULEX-Serbia policing protocol.

KOSOVA SOT
The European Commission will issue a progress report and feasibility study on Kosovo in around mid-October. The report's issuance is seen as a major step for Kosovo, Premier Hashim Thaci commented.
