A Serbian delegation led by Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic has refused to participate in the Croatia Summit 2009, which opened last night in Dubrovnik, Croatian national television, HRT, reported.

According to the HRT website, the reason for Jeremic's refusal to take part in the summit was a misunderstanding over the arrangement regarding Kosovo's participation.

“We made a precise arrangement with Croatia summit organizers, which the Croatian side turned down, forcing us to cancel our arrival unfortunately,” Jeremic told HRT, without providing any details of the arrangement to which he eluded.

Media is speculating that the Croatian Foreign Ministry had refused to allow Jeremic to make an opening speech alongside newly appointed Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor, Hungarian Prime Minister Gordon Bajnai, US Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg and Sweden Foreign Minister Carl Bildt due to Jeremic's previous accusations against Croatia for alleged ethnic cleansing.

The Croatian Summit 2009, which is focusing on European strategic imperatives – energy, investments, development - gathers European and North American high-level officials to discuss EU and NATO's future presence in Southeastern Europe.

Man i have to be honest, the best friend of Albanians within the region is Croatia...The Croats simply don,t care, what Serbia wants, the best thing i like about Croats is that, they,ll tell the truth, like it or not, they,ll tell the difference between, right and wrong.. in another word they are just being honest When it comes to The Republic of Kosovo.. the sooner the Serbs wake up and smell the truth,, the better is for Belgrade... well done Croatia for telling the truth...

truth?

Oh Eliott, you are so biased and you know it. One this you are right about is that Croatia doesn't care about what Serbia wants. That's because they have been comitting crimes against the Serbs for a very long time now. They were Nazis during WW2 and seems like nothing has changed. Friends with fellow Nazis from WW2 like Bosnian Muslims and Albnians. Nothing has changed at all, so Serbs are better for not being pals with this lot. Croats tell the truth? Wow, now you are making me laugh. They are denying Jasenovac which is a historical fact and what about ethnic cleansing of Krajina? Very decent of them. So who cares what Croatia of Mesic want? Serbs were right to walk out and show them their backs. That's all the likes of your guys deserve.

And I have to be honest too...as a Brazilian i don´t understand how the world has turned their backs to former wwI and WWII ally Serbia!!It seems Europe specially never learns the lesson...the West always suporting the wrong side until it is too late!(See the example of betraying Czechoslovaquia to Hitler...in 1938/39)How can you say that "the Croatians simply don´t care" and still pose as a moralistic person?...in democracy we must listen to both sides..don´t we???

Mr.Mesic, Mr.Dukanovic & mr.Sulaidzic are only remained relics of 90's in the Balkans. All of them, to put it very politely, don't like Serbia since they know that Serbia together with Romania and Bulgaria is the main country in the region. They would very much like to press it, to squeeze it, to diminish it... But they know that will not do. So they use every single opportunity to live their frustrations and therefore to launch attacks on Serbia, sometimes undercover of the "protection of human rights" and "facing the reality", and sometimes very openly, without any cause. Apart from that, I firmly believe that those who would have to face the reality are K-Albanians. Serbia has its very firm stance regarding Albanian UDI, and if Albanians want to go ahead, they will have to sit again with their Serbian counterparts and to start new round of negotiations - but this time for the real. If they continue to be stubborn, then this frozen conflict could last for decades. Its up to them to decide.

Best friends of Albanians are Croatians? Sure, if the intention is to screw the Serbs, there is definitely a common denominator there. "Right or wrong..." Good one, eliott. Just like in WWII, when the Croatians and Albanians fought with the Nazis...and committed unspeakable atrocities against innocent Serbians. Statements like the one above from an Albanian just serves to help clean their conscience regarding history...One day they, too, will have to account for the "truth"...

Tim Burton’s latest film, Alice in Wonderland, is easily his most visually stunning yet, showing just how vividly the magic can be put on the big screen. Burton has lined a top-notch cast in front of a green wall allowing him to let his imagination fly, but limiting the actors’ opportunity to give vent to their expressions.
