Two Killed in Serbian Fighter Jet Crash
Belgrade | 08 July 2009 |
Serbian authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash.
In a statement aired on national television, the Serbian Defense Ministry said that Lieutenant-Colonel Randjelovic was taking the craft for a test flight, preparing for an upcoming air show. He was flying low while performing a stunt when the plane crashed.
The crash was the third of a Serbian military airplane in the past two years. Until the crash, Serbia had five operational MIG-29’s, which were recently refurbished in Russia.

The issue of national identity is taken seriously by Balkan people – including the least serious among them.
