Belgrade _ Serbia’s Prime Minister has urged the two remaining war crimes fugitives to surrender voluntarily after the arrest top war crimes fugitive Radovan Karadzic.

Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic also called on The Hague Tribunal to treat all indictees in the same manner and in accordance to the law.

"One of the main principles behind this government is the respect of international law. Respecting our obligations toward The Hague Tribunal we simultaneously respect domestic and international law," Cvetkovic said in a statement.

“Serbia has made a major step and I urge remaining war crimes fugitives to voluntarily surrender. That would be much better for them and for the Serbian people,” Cvetkovic said.

Following Monday's arrest of former Bosnian Serbs political leader Radovan Karadzic, just two fugitives remain at large - ex-chief of the wartime Bosnian Serb army Ratko Mladic and former head of the breakaway Croatian Serb republic, Goran Hadzic.

Cvetkovic also said that the respect of international law presents a universal principle which would open the way for reconciliation throughout the region, allow for better life in Serbia and the more efficient defence of its territorial integrity.
