Kosovo Leader: Belgrade Manipulates Serbs

Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu
Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu
Pristina _ Kosovo will ‘not be a place for political experiments’ President Fatmir Sejdiu argues after accusing Serbia of meddling in the creation of a parallel Serb assembly.

Sejdiu made the comments at the fourth meeting of the International Steering Group for Kosovo, ISG, which met in Pristina on Monday, where the latest developments after Kosovo’s constitution came into force were discussed.

“We want to strongly reiterate that Kosovo shall not be a place for political experiments,” Sejdiu stressed adding that it cannot be “particularly a place in which power is exercised by illegal parallel structures that are encouraged, created and sponsored by Serbia.”

Sejdiu urged Kosovo Serbs to avoid being “politically manipulated by certain Serb officials, whose intention is the destabilisation of Kosovo and keeping the region in suspension.”

On Saturday, Kosovo Serbs inaugurated their own parliament in the ethnically-divided town of Mitrovica with a declaration that Kosovo is a part of Serbia, defying criticism from the United Nations and ethnic Albanian leaders that the assembly is illegal.

The assembly is created based on the results of the local elections held by Serbia in Kosovo, which Pristina and the UN also said were illegal. The assembly has no executive authority but reflects a deepening ethnic partition of Kosovo since its Albanian majority declared independence from Serbia in February, backed by the West but opposed by Belgrade and its ally Russia.

Some moderate Kosovo Serb leaders have also opposed its creation. Read more: http://www.balkaninsight.com/en/main/news/11412/

Pieter Feith, the Head of the International Civilian Office in Kosovo told media after the meeting of the ISG on Monday that the Group regards the Serb parallel assembly as “a step that does not have any legal effect,” and he expressed hope that the new Serbian government will be formed soon and contribute to positive developments.

On the other hand, Sejdiu dismissed again any possibility of holding talks with Belgrade over the political status of Kosovo.

“Kosovo is determined to maintain its state sovereignty and will accept no dialogue with Serbia on the status of Kosovo, which has already been settled,” he maintained.

Thanks for calling me stupid. I'm sure you have far more education than I have. At any rate, I will point out for all to read, you are the one whom resorted to childish behavior, and I did not. At any rate, you wrote, "But, if it was like that then I would rather be manipulated and ruled by washington wich are giving us all right to rule..." What? Washington is giving you the rights? You need a foreign country with its own interests at stake to give you the right to ruel yourselves? That's shameful. Nobody is saying Serbs and Kosovo Albanians need to live together. I think a division of Kosovo is the only solution at this point. With ONLY43 countries recognizing Kosovo since February 17, the division will most likely happen. Let's not forget, the US doesn't control the world, and 43 countries is far from a majority of countries. In fact, China and India, two countries NOT supporting Kosovo's independence, account for 1/3 of the earth's population. So, I suggest we all use our brains to gather information, and when we gather this information in an intelligent fashion, the only conclusion is a division of Kosovo. In fact, as Western sources like to repeat constantly, and I agree 100% with this statement, everyone must adjust to the reality on the ground. The reality on the ground is that Kosovo will split along ethnic lines. By the way, as someone born and raised in Washington, DC, I command you to do some more reading:) Afterall, you want to be manipulated from Washington, right?

Considering what we had, "autonomy" and then lost that one as well. I belive that we are in a much better position at the moment then what we have ever bin. We have the support of the worlds strongest economical states. And if you compare the recogonition rate that has bin repleying to Kosovo during these 4 last months, everybody knows that we are in a good way. The division cannot happen because of all problems it will give to the whole region. If Kosovo will be divied, wich I truly doubt. Then the albanians in Macedonia, Montonegro and Greece will try to divied themselfs. I truly doubt that the UN will let that happen. China and India has more then enough of there own problems to deal with so I hardly doubt that there are more then just words to this case from them. I dont want to be maniulated by noboyd, so dont put words in my mouth, what I was saing was that it is better to follow washington then to be ruled by beograd :) US dosent control the world thats for sure, but as you could see your self they have a great impact on what happends on the world. Under the nato bombin, either russia, china ore India lifted a finger for you, even if Russia is one of you greatest allies. Why do you think they didn't`? I hope we all will live that long and see what happens in the future, but as far as I can tell, there will never be any partition of kosovo. The only way for K and S to have no borders is if bought countries get a membership in the EU. And as far as I can tell, if Serbia dosen't start to think for the future, we will be in EU before you. Where you live and where you was borned is none of my conserne :)

I just want to say that it does not matter what an individual thinks, bnut what a government does. So, in this case, governments recognised Kosovo and not individuals. And governments are against partition and that is what matters. In any case, if you like partition, then part your country. How does it sound?

Now to restore the calm in Balkans -Kosovo must be divided! Sooner is better!Shame to USA and to albanian tiefs!

2008-07-01 12:28:48
Repleying on Serge, you say that to restore order in Balkans Kosovo need to be diveded... There has never before bin such an order as it is now. Before all countries in Balkans had problems, as it is at the moment, the only country that has a problem is Serbia. And there is no shame on either USA ore Albanians, becuase if slobo didn't order the soldiers to komit ethnic clensning then we would never had managed to divied our self from Serbia. And even if we did we would never had gained any international suppor. That was a chosen president by the people who did this.

AND I QUOTE: “We want to strongly reiterate that Kosovo shall not be a place for political experiments,” Sejdiu stressed adding that it cannot be “particularly a place in which power is exercised by illegal parallel structures that are encouraged, created and sponsored by Serbia.” ... Funny enough... I would suggest that starting your first political experiment in Kosovo was the doing of the Albanian majority. It was on the words of fledgling politicians that Kosovo's experimental goverment was formed, and yet to be fully recognized. The illegal formation of Kosovo can be described as: particularly a place in which power is exercised by illegal parallel structures that are encouraged, created and sponsored by Albania.” Please watch for falling glass when you through stones... So it was okay for Albanians to partition Serbia, and not okay for Serbians to repartition Kosovo without the Albanians partitioning everyother country that was nice enough to allow them a place to stay. Illirian, your true motivation rings very loud. Is it not enough for Albanians to have Albania? If your home country is not good enough, why should other people suffer? I really hope that you foolish balkanians (each and everyone of you) can figure out to live with each other, however I feel doubtful

Tim Burton’s latest film, Alice in Wonderland, is easily his most visually stunning yet, showing just how vividly the magic can be put on the big screen. Burton has lined a top-notch cast in front of a green wall allowing him to let his imagination fly, but limiting the actors’ opportunity to give vent to their expressions.
