Bosnia Convicts Turn Pigeons into Drug Mules

“They have misused this in the worst possible way,” prison deputy director, Josip Pojavnik, said.
Pojavnik added that the carrier pigeons have been smuggling cocaine and heroin, packed in little bags attached to their legs.
All four inmates have been tested positive for the use of drugs. It was unclear whether the four have used smuggled drugs only by themselves, or whether any drugs were sold to other prisoners.
Following this revelation, the prison administration has shut down the pigeon breeding programme, while the four inmates are facing new criminal charges.

The issue of national identity is taken seriously by Balkan people – including the least serious among them.
