David Leigh


David Leigh is one of Britain’s best-known investigative journalists. He is currently the Professor of Reporting at the journalism school of City University, London, and from 2000 – 2013, was also Investigations Editor of the Guardian newspaper.


Katrin Adams

Katrin is a senior advisor in the Regional Project on Social Protection and Prevention of Human Trafficking (SPPHT) implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on the Western Balkans. 

Luigi Rinella

Luigi Rinella was born on February 13, 1968, and graduated in law from Bari (Apulia) University in 1991. He joined the Italian National Police in 1995 and worked in Milan as the chief of a section (100 people) of the ‘Volanti’ patrol unit. After that, he went on to direct the investigative section of the unit.


Katjusa Popovic

Katjusa Popovic is the co-founder and head of Society Kljuc, the centre for fight against human trafficking in the Slovenian capital Ljubljana.


Marija Andjelkovic

Marija Andjelkovic LL.M. is an anti-traffickingexpert, human rights activist and one of the founders and current president of ASTRA, the first organisation to address the human trafficking issue in Serbia.

Savica Pureber

Savica Pureber works as a supreme state prosecutor in the office of the state prosecutor general of the Republic of Slovenia. 


Stevan Dojcinovic

Stevan Dojcinovic is an investigative reporter based in Belgrade who works for the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) and the Centre for Investigative Journalism in Serbia (CINS). 


Marcus Lindemann

Marcus Lindemann is an executive producer and journalist from Germany that is responsible for TV reports mainly broadcast on ZDF, Europe’s largest TV station.

Gordana Igric is BIRN's Regional Director.  She began her career as a journalist in Belgrade in 1981.
