In an interview with Macedonian Alfa TV on February 2, Thaci said that meeting with Tadic should focus on all the problems that weigh on relations.
“Serbia's attitude towards Kosovo is not correct, and we want the overall situation to be on the agenda once and for all,” Thaci told Alfa TV.
He went on to say that leaders are supposed to extend a hand to each other.
"I am ready to sit down with Tadic in order to talk about these issues. I want to point out that we will be deciding on Kosovo’s internal policy on our own,” the Kosovo prime minister said.
He added that Serbia should change its attitude toward all the countries in the Balkans and not just toward Kosovo.
According to Wikileaks, Tadic and Thaci have already met twice in secret.
Kosovo declared its independence from Serbia in February 2008.
The EU mediated dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina started in March 2011 in order to normalise relations between the two countries, both of which hope to join the EU one day.
The two sides have already reached deals on trade, freedom of movement, cadastral registry and mutual recognition of university diplomas.
Speaking at a trilateral meeting at Jahorina mountain in Bosnia on Friday, Tadic said he was willing to meet with Thaci, if the meeting led to resolving the problems.
"The talks would have to be aimed at solving problems, not promoting Kosovo's statehood or political folklore," Tadic told reporters.
Both communities in Kosovo blame politics for the trial of Fatmir Limaj - though from diametrically opposing points of view.
