A suspected copper wire thief could face up to ten years in prison for reportedly causing a runway blackout at Zagreb Airport.

The 28-year-old, whose name has not been disclosed, was found allegedly stealing copper wires from one the airport’s power stations in the Croatian capital, reportedly blacking out the main runway for five hours and potentially endangering passengers.
Airport authorities say the incident did not cause any traffic disturbances. Two airplanes landed successfully during the blackout while one managed to take off, daily Jutarnji List writes.
