Spanish Firm to Manage Montenegro Hotel
Ulcinj_ Spanish hotel company Iberostar Hotels will manage the Otrant Hotel in the southern Montenegrin town of Ulcinj from 2009 to 2019, Otrant’s management announced on Friday.
A contract between Barkli Montenegro, the Russian company which owns the Otrant, and Iberostar was signed on Monday in Palma de Majorca, Spain.
In an interview with the Montenegrin daily Vijesti, Aleksej Novosov, executive director of Barkli Montenegro, said that signing the contract would enable the realization of one of the biggest hotel projects in Montenegro.
He said the Iberostar Hotel Otrant Beach would have four stars and would boast a spa center, pools, restaurants, bars, cafes, conference facilities, tennis and volleyball courts, and shops, as well two hectares of beachfront.
“The Spanish management will take over the hotel in the summer of 2009 following renovation worth around 20 million Euros,” Novosov said.
Barkli Montenegro bought Otrant three years ago for 2.5 million Euros. For several years Iberostar has managed the Belvi Hotel in Becici, Montenegro.
