Serbian Tourist Dies After Ohrid Brawl

The man succumbed to his injuries while being rushed to hospital in an ambulance after the fight in the early hours of Friday, police sources told the MIA news agency.

The Interior Ministry confirmed the incident but did not disclose the identity or the age of the victim.
A second Serbian man was discharged after receiving treatment.

The pair was injured after a fight broke out between two groups who have previously scuffled in a nightclub in the town’s centre.

The victim, who sustained head injuries, is believed to be about 30-years-old, according to reports.

The police are questioning some 30 people who either participated in or witnessed the fight.

The town of Ohrid, situated on the banks of the lake with the same name, is the biggest tourist destination in the country.

Serbian tourists are traditionally among the most frequent foreign visitors to the resort.
