President Traian Basescu has promulgated the law that hikes the child-rearing indemnity from 75 per cent to 85 per cent of the mother’s net income.

PUTEREA
Syrian born businessman Omar Hayssam has been sentenced to 2 years in prison for fleeing Romania. He was involved in kidnapping four Romanian journalists during the war in Irak.

MEDIAFAX
Several Romanian business people will partially take over ATE Bank Romania, recently bought by Greece Piraeus Bank.
