Election reruns will be held in two Kosovo municipalities this Sunday.
The Central Election Commission, CEC, decided in December that the second-round mayoral race in Prizren and Lipjan must be held again.
The move followed a recommendation from the Election Commission on Appeals and Complaints, which feared that widespread irregularities had taken place in these municipalities during the December 13 elections.
The Commission had also recommended that the ballot in Gjilan be re-run, but the CEC ordered a recount instead.
The fate of the election race in Gjilan is still unclear as the CEC secretariat has been unable to agree on whether to approve the final results. The CEC is expected to attempt to come to a conclusion on the issue next week.
The race in Prizren, Lipjan and Gjilan is between candidates from the Democratic Party of Kosovo, PDK, and Democratic League of Kosovo, LDK, which form the government coalition. In the original poll in December, both parties shared roughly half of the votes in all three municipalities.
The local elections are the first to be held in Kosovo since it declared independence in February 2008.
Both communities in Kosovo blame politics for the trial of Fatmir Limaj - though from diametrically opposing points of view.
