Ex-guerilla commander Ramush Haradinaj’s cabinet was approved on Saturday ending a political deadlock that has persisted since elections on June 11.

Haradinaj, the candidate of the PAN coalition, won a tight majority – with 61 votes in favour in the 120-seat parliament.

"There is no alternative to dialogue with Serbia," said Haradinaj, addressing parliament on Saturday.

He said that despite "a tragic history, we can not change the fact that we are neighbours."

The main Serbian party in Kosovo, Srpska Lista, supported Haradinaj and it will have three ministries while the non-Albanian and non-Serbian communities will have another two.

Under the initial coalition agreement, the other partner PDK will have the post of Deputy Prime Minister plus six ministries.

Haradinaj's AAK will have three other ministries. A junior partner in the coalition, Fatmir Limaj's NISMA, will have the post of Deputy Prime Minister and three other ministries.

Talk about it!
