EU concerned about investigations against journalists. Lekic's claims about Prevlaka rejected. Milic: “I would be ashamed in front of God, if I was saving the DPS“.
Investigations against journalists, large number of suits against them and growing pressures over the media, are the reason for serious concern, it is warned in the new Enlargement Starategy of the EU. The Startegy for the first time openly states that the rule of law will be the essence of Montenegrin accession into the union.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration rejected Sunday's claims of Miodrag Lekic, first candidate of the Democratic Front, that Prevlaka was handed over from Djukanovic to Sanader, that is from Montenegro to Croatia, by calling them false and malintentioned.
Leader of Socialist People's Party, SNP, Srdjan Milic, said that "it would be a shame in front of God and everybody" if he made a coalition with Democratic Party of Socialists, DPS, in case that his party was determinig the new ruling majority.
Optimism about reform under the new government fades as the new team delays enacting the promised media strategy and takes effective control of the media through the familiar tactics of targeted advertising and hidden ownership.
