Montenegrin Arrested for Torturing Donkey

The video clip of a man dragging a donkey on a rope connected with the truck that he was driving one of Montenegro’s roads was uploaded on Youtube on Monday.

It quickly spread all over the social networks, where many users fiercely condemned the scene.

Police, who learned about the case through the media, reacted the following day and arrested a 68-year-old man from the town of Danilovgrad.

Animal torture and murder is a criminal offence in the country and the case has been forwarded to the state prosecutor’s office.

Under Montenegro’s criminal code, persons who kill, wound or torture an animal face fines or imprisonment for up to one year.
