Half of the veterans from the 2001 Macedonia armed conflict would take up arms once again, an opinion poll conducted among some 600 members of the Macedonian security forces has shown.
The results were presented yesterday by the association “Dostoinstvo” (Dignity) made up of members of the security forces. The 2001 conflict between ethnic Albanian insurgents and state security forces lasted six months and ended with the signing of the Ohrid Peace Accord.

The unidentified metal object that flew several kilometres in the air and exploded on Tuesday morning in the Skopje ironworks factory complex was probably part of a Russian-made anti air rocket that was some six metres tall, the initial police investigation has shown. How the rocket arrived at the factory and why it was being prepared for melting as scrap metal is still a mystery.
