There is concern emerging in Brussels that Macedonia’s interest in EU membership is not sincere but rather a cover up for other interests, Zoran Thaler, a Slovenian member of the European Parliament and the EP’s rapporteur for Macedonia, warned yesterday in Skopje. He says that Brussels is becoming suspicious of the true intentions of the government led by Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski.

Many people think that corruption is the biggest problem in the Macedonian health sector. Three out of ten respondents in the opinion poll conducted by the daily point to corruption as the main reason for the bad condition of the public health system. Only one per cent of the respondents think that the situation in this sector is good.
