DNEVNIK

Bulgaria positions itself as the “bigger brother” to neighboring Macedonia in the draft deal for good neighbourly relations that it has proposed, local observers say for the daily after seeing the English version of the document that Dnevnik claims to possess.

UTRINSKI VESNIK

A modest €180 million of foreign direct investments entered the country last year, the National Bank of Macedonia announced yesterday evening. This is only half of the total FDI in 2008, which amounted to €399 million.


VREME

Although legislators loosened the strict anti smoking law, which now allows smoking on the open terraces of cafes and restaurants, this measure can not be put into effect because another law prohibits the opening of summer terraces before April 15. Some of the café owners have ignored this provision and now risk fines.
