Work groups under the auspices of the government and the Secretariat for European Affairs are working intensively on changes to the election law, the daily reveals, citing sources from the State Election Committee. The groups are calculating the number people from the Macedonian diaspora who are eligible to vote and mulling the best ways to allow members of the diaspora to participate in elections in Macedonia.

The European Parliament adopted, by a large majority, a resolution which commends Macedonia's progress on its path to EU membership. 548 deputies voted in favor, 45 against and 35 abstained. The EP recommended granting the start date for Macedonia’s EU accession talks in March, without further delay.
