Brussels would like to see an initiative from Skppje which would contain a plan for settling the name row with Greece. Diplomats suggest that the plan should contain Macedonia's consent to a geographical qualifier in the country’s name that would be used in all occasions, not just in contacts with Greece.

The head of the Macedonian Orthodox Church, Archbishop Stefan, has in recent years signed several deals in the name of the church with murky partners who eventually end up in jail, the daily reveals. The last such case was an agreement with a man who initially said he would invest in two hotels owned by the church but later disappeared. This stains the credibility of the church, the daily notes.
