European politicians swarm Macedonia amid crisis; Last chance for resolving political crisis

The government and the opposition are waging their battle over the political crisis with foreign logistics, seeking help from sister parties in Europe, the daily says. Currently it seems like the entire Europe is in Skopje to scan Macedonian crisis. Several groups of MEP’s are in the country on the inciative of the right wing ruling VMRO DPMNE party, the EP rapporteur for Macedonia Richard Howitt is also in Skopje, as well as the Director-General of Enlargement at the European Commission, Stefano Sannino.

Opposition Social Democrats will not participate in the March local elections if the government keeps refusing to stage parallel early general poll. This is the decision of the opposition after Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski said that there will not be snap polls. Now all hopes for overcoming the political crisis are placed in the forthcoming visit of the EU enlargement commissioner, Stefan Fuele slated for next week.
