The head of the opposition Social Democrats will not step down until he makes a ‘final victory’ against his bitter political rival, the Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski from ruling VMRO DPMNE party. This was the message from the convention that the opposition held this weekend in Kumanovo, answering to the frequent calls for his resignations that started to come from the opposition ranks itself.

Instead of steps towards political reconciliation, the situation after the convention of the opposition Social Democrats this weekend in Kumanovo leads to even more political tension, the daily says. The social democrats have confirmed that their final choice would be to boycott the local elections in March, that according to them have no point without holding parallel early general elections. Opposition head Branko Crvenkovski said it was a lie that with their boycott of the elections the voters would be deprived of a choice.
