Opposition to withdraw its members in the election commission; Macedonia expands contaminated milk inspections

The opposition Social Democrats mulls problematizing the voting at the March local elections by withdrawing its members in the Election Commission and in the local electoral boards, the daily says. The ruling party says it has a backup plan for normal functioning of the commissions if that happens. Experts say for the daily that if the opposition withdraws the voting will not be jeopardized. Social Democrats last week refused to take part in the local elections after the government rejected their demand to postpone the voting or set parallel general elections.

The Macedonian Food Safety Agency has expands inspections over imported milk and dairy products from all over Europe. This happened after several countries found higher than normal levels of potentially dangerous aflatoxin M1 in the milk coming from their producers.
