DNEVNIK

There will be no changes to the Macedonian election model in the near future, nor will there be shifts in the number and structure of the electoral units, Parliament Speaker Trajko Veljanovski told local journalists at a briefing yesterday. His remarks came after the junior governing party, the Democratic Union for Integration, asked that Macedonia be turned into a single electoral unit.

UTRINSKI VESNIK

Ali Ahmeti, the head of the junior governing party, the ethnic Albanian Democratic Union for Integration, DUI, has given an ultimatum to the prime minister and leader of the main VMRO DPMNE party to solve the name spat with Greece by June. DUI sources tell the daily that Ahmeti got the impression that efforts regarding a settlement are going in a positive direction.

VREME

A new meeting between between the Macedonian authorities and the UN name mediator, Matthew Nimetz, should take place in mid-April, the head of the Macedonian Foreign Ministry, Antonio Milososki, told media in Skopje. There is still much hope that the spat with Greece will be solved by June, the daily says.
