Macedonia opened its first embassy in Kosovo on Monday during a visit to Pristina by Macedonian Foreign Minister Antonio Milososki.

The move follows the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in October 2009, after the border demarcation was agreed.
During their meeting, Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu told Milososki that cooperation between the two countries was a ‘good example to the region of neighbourly relations’.
“The Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Macedonia, being neighbours, naturally have common interests and ambitions,” Sejdiu said.
He also praised Macedonia’s progress towards the European Union and success in securing visa liberalisation.
Milososki said that relations between the two countries were ‘very good’, according to a statement released by Sejdiu’s office.
He said: “The Republic of Macedonia will be the next leader of the Council of Europe, from May to November this year, and during this time we will be available to the institutions of Kosovo to help them as we do today.”
Following the meeting, Sejdiu and Milososki attended the inauguration of the Embassy of the Republic of Macedonia in Pristina.
