Thaci is patching his coalition. At the University of Medicine, the legal criteria are not respected in choosing the academic personnel.
The statute of Pristina’s University has been breached again to accommodate Astrit Kuci, the husband of President Atifete Jahjaga. Kuci, a dentist by profession, is in the race to win the position of Assistant Professor at the University of Medicine, but he can’t fulfil the criteria according to the procedures in place.
Kosovo’s Prime Minister Hashim Thaci is trying to consolidate his ruling coalition. After three lawmakers from his coalition left, Thaci started meeting opposition leaders, in an attempt to patch his numbers at the parliament. He met with the President of the Movement for Union (LB) Avni Klinaku, to agree upon the transfer of two of LB lawmakers into the coalition.
PDK’s general congress will be held this year. Whomever deservers it, can become the counter-candidate of Hashim Thaci. But, Fatmir Limaj and Jakup Krasniqi have violated the party statute by voting against an initiative tabled by the PDK at the Parliament, says Adem Grabovci the chief of PDK parliamentary group. In an interview for the paper he said that the time has come for the party to define its profile.
