Një mocion nga avokati mbrojtës i Ratko Mladicit që kërkonte largimin e gjyqtarit kryesues, Alphons Orie, dhe shtyrjen e gjyqit të tij, është hedhur poshtë.
Kryesuesi i Tribunalit të Hagës, Theodor Meron, vendosi se argumentet e palës mbrojtëse rreth anshmërisë së Oriet ishin të pabaza, dhe vendosi që gjyqi do të fillojë nesër, më 16 maj, siç është planifikuar.
“Pasi kam shqyrtuar secilin argument të Mladicit për largimin e Gjyqtarit Orie dhe përgjigjet e gjyqtarit Orie, nuk jam i kënaqur që Mladici ka treguar anshmëri dhe mendoj se kërkesa është e pameritë”, lexohet në vendimin e Gjyqtarit Meron.
Në mocionin e tij që kërkonte largimin e gjyqtarit, Branko Lukic, avokati mbrojtës i Mladicit, përmendi një listë ankesash për punën e gjyqtarit Orie, të cilat mbrojtja argumentoi se do të pengojnë një gjyq të drejtë.
Mladici, ish-komandant i ushtrisë serbe të Bosnjës, akuzohet për gjenocid, krime ndaj njerëzimit dhe dhunim të ligjeve dhe zakoneve të luftës në Bosnjë dhe Hercegovinë.
