Herzegovina's Wild Horses Captured on Camera

The remarkable sight of a herd of around 250 horses running wild around Mount Kruzi in Herzegovina has been documented by Bosnian photographer Haris Calkic.

The herd, which has been running free near the north-west Herzegovinian town of Livno for several years, was originally formed of horses released into the wild by their owners.

It is now looked after by a hiking association, and in a couple of years’ time is expected to expand to around 500 horses.

Bosnian photographer Calkic captured the natural beauty of the herd and its pastoral surroundings on a summer day.
