
The Yugoslav Drama Theatre, JDP, prepared the premiere of a drama classic for December.
The adaptation of Shakespeare’s Othello by young theatre director Miloš Lolić is scheduled for December 22nd at the Yugoslav Drama Theatre, JDP.
The performance is the work of a director with a specific and modern approach to the theatre and involves a cast of celebrated actors.
The role of the Venetian general, Othello, is interpreted by Vojin Ćetković, while Nikola Đuričko plays the evil officer, Iago. Milena Živanović will be Othello’s wife, Desdemona.
As director, Lolić is well known for sound and speech experiments that push the boundaries of conventional drama, as well as for subtle social criticisms.
For his work Lolić was the youngest winner of the Belgrade International Theatre Festival, BITEF award, in 2012 and has since received several domestic and international theatre awards.
