Government  to survive confidence vote. Leaked tapes “manipulated”. Higher penalties for speeding.

Hours before parliament votes on the government’s call for a confidence vote, an official analysis has shown that earlier leaked tapes of conversations between government officials have been manipulated.  The centre-right administration is likely to survive the vote.

Tapes of conversations between the head of custom's office Vanyo Tanov and high-level state officials, including the Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, leaked to the media, have been doctored. This is the conclusion of an official interior ministry analysis.

TRUD

Drivers who  exceed the speed limit by more than 50 km per hour will be fined 350 lev (€175) and their driving licence will be suspended for three months, according  a recent law change, adopted by the parliament. At the moment the file for such a violation is 250 lev (€125).
