Bulgaria has condemned Syria's attack on Turkey, saying it represents a gross violation of international law.

"We support Turkish demands for an immediate end to such actions, and we urge the Syrian regime to refrain from further reckless violations of international law," the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
"In accordance with its duties as an ally, Bulgaria will continue to closely monitor developments on Turkey's border with Syria and will take the necessary measures as required."
On Wednesday, Syrian mortar fire on the Turkish border town of Akcakale killed several civilians including a woman and three children.
Ankara responded by firing artillery at targets inside Syria and sought authorisation from parliament to conduct more cross-border operations.
