“Current information clearly shows that the Balkan region is the next destination for the global Jihad, which aims to establish an infrastructure and recruit activists,” said Liberman during the meeting.
“This can be seen by the attempts of Muslim and Saudi Arabian charity organisations - who have transferred funds to Africa and South America for this purpose - to transfer funds to regions populated by Bosnians and Albanians,” he added.
Lieberman said the Iranian-backed Hezbollah group has infiltrated South America, and that al-Qaida is well established in Africa.
He urged the Macedonian premier not to allow militants to take root in the Balkans.
